Yes, it could very well be that “monsters” have their own ecology and aren’t colored coded like dragons for your convenience.  Drawing someone lying on their back was oddly easier than expected – just don’t rotate the paper and draw “right side up” so that you end up having to correct for gravity’s pull on fabrics.
