Boo and Montey

Tricky, this one… without a spyglass or binoculars and the classic circular view, how to convey distance, much less have enough detail to show a kobold? Thought about doing a weird fish eye lens with the party on one side, a heavily distorted middle, and a kobold on the other side, but it seemed like insufficient action to justify that.  I guess just do the general form, add a spear, a couple of little spikes for horns, and that’s about it?  Might have to revisit this someday.
