Why is FOWL engaging, you might ask?  If the car sped off, they’d have no choice but to concentrate on the pursuit.  Now if Boo and Montey decide to maintain a slower speed, FOWL knows (1) they wouldn’t lead them back to their patron, (2) they should eliminate them, but (3) they can’t capitalize on their maneuverability.

Non-intelligent adversaries are the worst, though.
